
A GET ROLLERSKIING session is a flexible 6 week course with a qualified rollerski instructor which will consist of the following acquisition of skills:
- Basic knowledge of rollerskiing equipment, safety equipment and appropriate clothing for rollerskiing
- Importance of warming up before skiing
- Stand on rollerski's safely
- Star turn and side step
- Double pole and diagonal stride
- Controlled ski down gentle slope
- Safely brake/stop by rolling onto grass
- Introduction to both Classic and Skating styles of Rollerskiing
- Is aware of who to contact in case of an accident
Upon completion of a 6 week GET ROLLERSKIING course you will recieve a certificate of completion and would have the skills to rollerski without instruction but within a club or activity-led session. There are then opportunities to step onto the Cross Country Skiing Award scheme through a short GO ROLLERSKIING course.
