About University Of Bristol Snowsports Club (UBSC)
As the the biggest club at Bristol, we have the best deals, biggest trips and maddest socials going! But don't be put off; we're an incredibly friendly bunch.
We offer something for everyone, whether its getting upside down in the park, tearing through a GS course in a cat suit or learning to make your first snow plough turns, UBSC truly is the club for you. And if mountains aren't your thing, then come and join us in our second home - the bar.
If you're new to snowsports and keen to learn, join us and get involved!
Last year we had 30 beginners join us on a subsidised 4 session package of coaching in the UK, including lessons at both dry slops and a snowdome. This is the perfect way to set yourself up for our unmissable trip at Easter if you've never set foot on skis before, and we've even had complete beginners moving onto our regular training and joining the race team! There really is no better time or place to learn than at uni, and you definitely won't regret it!

Training & Competitions
With dedicated race and freestyle teams for both skiers and boarders, we have one of the best training set-ups of any university snowsports club. We run weekly training sessions on Tuesday nights to Mt. Gloucester; one of the best dry slopes in the country. This is supplemented with freestyle nights at Tamworth and indoor racing at Milton Keynes. These sessions are open to all abilities and the professional coaching on offer will be sure to help you take your riding to the next level. We always look forward to introducing people to the competitive side of the sport we love, so don't think you already need to be a pro racer to come along!
However, after scoring multiple freestyle podiums at national competitions last year, and with a race team that finished top 8 in the UK to boot, UBSC is also the choice for the serious athlete. This can be shown by our status as a Performance Sport club, ensuring we have priority access to the university's sports facilities with funding to run off-slope training like pilates and strength and conditioning sessions. We are also one of the only universities to run our own Alpine training camp over New Years for a week of intensive coaching, all at a massively subsidised price.
With regular competitions throughout the year on dry slopes and in snowdomes, there are plenty of opportunities to let your competitive side out.
