Welcome to Ravens Ski Club, based in Sunderland, Northeast England.

About the Club

The club meets at Sunderland Ski Centre located at Silksworth Sports Complex in Sunderland. We enjoy sole use of the main slope between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday Club Nights. We are a ski racing club which develops skiers from basic snow plough turns to national race team level utilising race training techniques.

Membership of the club is open to skiers who wish to develop their skiing.

The first week is £1 to the club to cover insurance. You need to complete a membership form for this but do not need to pay membership until you decide you want to join usually 2 weeks later. This is so that we have your details on file. Membership is £30 per member per year and £5 for each additional family member. This also gives you membership to Tigers Ski Club which operates on a Thursday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.After this it is £5 to the club for the coaching fee ( paid in the Heritage Room in the Ski Slope Complex) followed by £5.45 to the slope paid in reception. Minimum standard is to be able to perform controlled, linked snowplough turns from the top of the main slope. Age group wise we have Skiers aged 7 up to 50.The first week you would be assessed over a couple of runs and would then be placed with a coach, currently we have 4 coaches:The coaches are as follows, along with their respective training group.

From October to April we run a club race night, on the last Wednesday of the month. The format is three timed runs through the course with the Best of Runs 1 or 2 + Run 3 adding up to your total time. What this means is that you must complete one clean timed run from Run 1 or 2 and complete a clean timed run 3. There will be gate judges on the night with flags to identify any disqualifications. The coaches will also be in attendance to provide race support and feedback.Under 12's and below will race on stubbies, Under 14's and above will race on full gates.
