About Lakeland Cross-Country Ski Club

The primary purpose of the club is for Cross-Country skiing on the Lakeland fells on real snow but the club also roller skis during the summer.

The primary purpose of the club is skiing on the Lakeland fells when there is sufficient snow. When there is sufficient snow, a leader will have selected some suitable snow on which to use our metal edged cross-country touring skis. Members can contact the nominated leader on our website to find out the meeting place. Snow skiing meetings take place mainly at weekend. Many members also meet to enjoy roller skiing all year round. New members will be able to use some of the club's equipment for both skiing on the fells and also for roller skiing as well as taking advantage of the club's own qualified instructors. Some of our members are also Telemark skiers and when not Telemarking on the fells they practice on both plastic slopes and in Indoor Snow Centres. The club also organises social events including talks and other outings.
